The Triangles group had a race to see who could match up all the fractions with the correct shape pictures first. Congratulations Escada, Chloe and Noah for coming first in this game!

For reading we had to retell the main ideas from a non fiction text. 

Then in my reading group we created a mind map together on the website Popplet to help record the main ideas.

I Am Learning To Write A Recount

My Incredible 100 Days Party

Wow! Today was the big day of the one hundred days party. On Friday last week we celebrated one hundred days of learning and working.

First we did a song called Zero the Hero and it was amazing. To make one or two zero we put our hands on our hips and made zeros. Mrs Beach did lots of cool exercises and they looked funny and crazy!

Next we iced some cupcakes. The icing looked so delicious that I sneaked some icing off the table. When we finished we all lined the cupcakes in rows. We had one for lunch and one for morning tea and we could take two home. Some of the groups had m and ms and some had hundreds and thousands and even black hundreds and thousands. Can I tell you a secret? I was a leader of a group.

Finally we made one hundred glasses. We made all the glasses with coloured card and paper. Soon Mrs Beach took a photo of each of us in our glasses. I think I looked quite groovy. It was the best party ever!

I Am Learning To Recall My Basic Facts

This term we have been learning our basic facts to help us with our Basic Fact-a-thon. We have been playing a game called Slide Addition on the iPad to help us learn them.

I Am Learning To Use Describing Words

For Mother’s Day we had to write a poem in word art.

We are learning to use describing words in our writing to make it interesting. We loved making our cards in Word Art and choosing the shape, colour and font.

Today our class went to the Buddhist Temple and participated in lots of different activities.

I am in Pukekoes for Reading and we have been learning to use different reading strategies. 

I need to look for chunks (word parts) that I know to help me read the word quickly.

My Reflection
I can chunk my words by using Chunky Monkey. I need to work on retelling the story in my own words. Sometimes I can ask the teacher or a buddy to help me.

I needed to think about size, shape and position of body parts

I coloured my self portrait using pastels.

I needed to think about using colours effectively by blending different pastel colours

Chloe-The purple one has the most games and he 10 games. The green one has the fewest games and he has 6 games.

My Reflection 
I am learning to do bar graphs.
It can be tricky to read the small writing.
I am proud that I got this finished.
The next step for me might be to read the names more clearly.
The teacher could help me by learning the names.
